Sacristans and Lay Assistants
This is a page of notes to help all those who take part in the Services.
The main link between the Chaplains and the House are the House Sacristans. These are key members of the Chapel team and form (together with the Chaplains the MC and the Lay Assistants) the Chapel Committee.
The Lay Assistants are licensed by the Bishop to assist in the Eucharist with the Elements.
Every House takes a turn on Chapel Duty - providing in turn, Readers, Servers and general assistance. Again this is a key area for the House Sacristan to lead and organize.
