Theatre Crew

The TSS Theatre Crew train/work in the Annand Theatre every Tuesday lunchtime, under the guidance of Ms. Di Francis and Ms.Corinne Miller.  Students from years 8 -12 are involved.

Students are trained to be proficient in all areas of theatre production, particularly stage management, lighting rigging, focusing and crewing, sound preparation, costume and set construction and general theatre maintenance. Students begin withbegan with a safety training program, where students receive their operator's qualification for the theatre’s electric lighting lift. With new students involved each year, experienced crew members consolidate their skills by passing on their knowledge.

The skills learnt by the boys culminate in them crewing school productions, for example, the House Drama Festival, the Gold Coast Secondary Schools' Drama Festival and various music and drama performance nights. The students take on enormous responsibility with total dedication and professionalism. The concept of "Team" is a fundamental aspect the Theatre Crew.  The TSS Theatre crew, lead by senior student Angus Ledgerwood, is one of the vital organisations that exist within the school.

The crew in 2007 have been involved in the running of the school Inter-house Drama Festival, Yr12 Valedictory Graduation Assembly, the technical organisation of light and sound for the Senior/Intermediate/Junior productions the Drama Department entered into the Gold Coast Secondary Schools Drama Festival (GCSSDF), also taking the lead in the hosting and smooth running of the GCSSDF Senior Division at the TSS theatre.
