He was a highly accomplished master of many instruments which he taught at a very high standard. He was deeply involved in the music life of the school; he contributed immeasurably to the progress and development of the department and to the standard of excellence that has now been achieved at the present time. He passed away in 1981, his funeral taking place at St. Albans Chapel on 4th April that year.
