Mr. Phil Ward -
Housemaster
Phil Ward
arrived at TSS in 1987, after previously having
taught at Geelong Grammar for 4 years, and then at
Anglican Church Grammar (Churchie) for a further 4
years. He was immediately given the coveted position
as Head of Department – Business Education, a
position he held for some 15 years. In 1999 he
became Housemaster of Walker House. In 2001 he moved
into boarding as Assistant Housemaster of Thorold
House, where his work was the benchmark for
attention to detail, professionalism and the much
desired "all round nice guy award". Phil is married
to his lovely wife Jan and he also has two boys at
the school (Tom in grade 10 and Ned in Grade 7).
Their dog is called “Daisy” a caramel border collie
and their Burmese cat is called “Co Co.” On
the rare occasions that Phil is not working, he is
an avid surfer... even owning a V.W. Kombi! |

Mr. Jon MacPherson -
WOLI Resident Boarding Master
After completing year
12 at Immanuel College on the Sunshine Coast, Jon traveled to Brisbane where he graduated with a
Degree in Business. Jon was then lucky enough to
spend the next 2 years traveling the globe on a
working holiday. He later returned home to fulfill
his dreams of becoming a Sports Physiotherapist,
which he is currently studying at Griffith
University. Jon joined Delpratt House in 2006, and
lives on the Middle Floor. When not on hitting the
books, Jon is
a very keen fisherman, and he also has the
reputation as the "Delpratt Lord of the Barbeque". |

Mr. Lex Stewart - WOLI Resident
Boarding Master
Lex
joined the Delpratt community at the start of 2007. An old boy of TSS, he has direct
experience of boarding from his time as a student in
Thorold House. Before joining the team at Delpratt,
he worked in the public service in Canberra and
completed a Business Informatics Degree at the
University of Canberra. Lex works full time in the
Telecommunications Industry
for South East
Queensland based Telco Allegro Networks providing
advanced broadband and voice solutions to the
corporate environment.
When not working, Lex is the "interior decoration
king" of Delpratt, and there are rumours that he has
bought shares in IKEA! |

Mrs. Lurline Loffel - House
Matron
Matron is the heart and soul of
Delpratt House, and has been involved at TSS since
1960! She started her career 48 years ago in the
Kitchen, and then Biddle House where she worked for
8 years (with a few years off in-between to raise
her three children). In 1980 Lurline was promoted to
the cleaning staff of Delpratt, and 5 years later
she was appointed as Matron. For the last 22 years
she has redefined the role of Matron through her
passion, commitment and professionalism with staff
and students alike. Matron has 6 grandchildren (and
over 60 surrogate grandchildren in Delpratt), and
lists her passions as "The children and gardening".
She is also a mad keen Elvis fan, so if you are keen
to hear almost continuous Elvis hits, pop on in to
Matron's room and have a cup of tea... she would love
to see you! |
