Housemaster: Cameron Herbert, MEd BEd DipT GCertEdAdmin MACE

Housemaster Herbert and FamilyCameron Herbert, the Housemaster of McKinley House, was born in Perth and raised on a wheat and sheep farm in the Central Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, his grandparents being pioneers of the area. He was educated at Nungarin Primary School and at Scotch College, Perth, where he was a boarder in Keys House from 1979 to 1983. Cameron has a breadth of experience in teaching and leadership in Secondary, Primary and Middle School settings. Assistant Housemaster: Eleanor Mackie, DipT

MackieEleanor Mackie came to TSS in 1983 after having been a Foundation Staff Member at Kenmore State High School followed by Head of Class Music at St Peter's Lutheran College. After supporting her Family as they completed their formal education, she then found time to be her own person. In 2000, following a year's Leave of Absence, teaching in the UK & travelling widely, she moved in to Thorold House as a Resident Master. It was in 2002 she replaced Mr Bill Greinke as Housemaster of Kaiser House, a position she still holds. After seven years in Thorold House, the opportunity to be Assistant Head of McKinley arose and she is loving it. Eleanor also teaches Religious Education and takes Debating in the Senior School.

Eleanor enjoys reading, listening to all kinds of music, gardening, spending time with family & friends, but, most of all, travelling. She has three 'children': David, Karen & Fiona who are all married, and there are four wonderful Grandchildren - Cassidy, Ethan and Brady - who live in Brisbane and Sylvie who lives in Cheadle, Cheshire. And if you can't find Eleanor, she could possibly be on a plane to the U K, again!!!

Resident Master: Adrian Blundell, BEd

Adrian Blundell joined the staff of TSS in 2008 as the new Director of Rugby and as a Health and Physical Education teacher in the Senior School. Adrian is the most recent addition to the McKinley House residential team.

Resident Master: Paul Stanton

Paul Stanton joined the McKinley House staff during 2007. He has a strong background in boarding, having attended Nudgee College as a boarder himself, and having done a GAP year in England as a Resident Master. He is currently studying Pharmacy at Griffith University and working in a pharmacy on Sundays. Paul is no stranger to TSS, having coached the Second XI Cricket team and having worked with the Under 15 Rugby boys during the year. He has also set the standard for pool playing in the House, and his scalp is a prized one amongst the staff and boys who dare to challenge him.

Resident Master: Chris Alderton

Chris Alderton attended The Southport School as part of the British Offshore Swimming Program in 2004 and 2005. After graduating from school, Chris was invited to continue his swimming training at TSS, joining the staff of McKinley House at the start of 2006. He was a Prefect of The Southport School and Vice Captain of Thorold House in 2005 and the high standards he showed as a student continue to be in evidence in his work as a Resident Master. Chris has his eyes on representing Great Britain at the London Olympic Games, and we wish him well in this quest.
