Melbourne House is a great House for your son to be entering. It is a House which values the complete boy and the education of the complete boy. We consider academics to be first among equals. All boys must do their best in their studies at whatever level this might be. They are encouraged to embark on at least two co-curricular activities either in sport or in cultural activities. We have had many successes in the House. In 2007, four of the valedictorians achieved an OP 1. We have been champion Chess Team for the last four years and have done well in Track and Field, Cross country and Drama. |

Parents should be supportive of their son's involvement in the House Activities and ensure that they attend events when they can as well. Communication is important and as well as the record book, I shall contact parents individually and in total concerning upcoming events and other issues by email. Melbourne House HistoryMr H. Melbourne who died in 1949 was a master from 1914 to 1932, including a period as Master of the Prepartory School, and came out of retirement to rejoin the staff from 1940-1942 to help overcome war induced shortages. Melbourne House was established in 1979 with Surman and Turnock to make a total of eight day-houses. The previous housemasters are: J.S. Klan (1979-1980) |
