Challenging Courses run by Outward Bound Australia

General Overview

Outward Bound is an exciting experience where participants are pushed to their absolute limit. The courses develop leadership skills, navigational skills and teamwork

Every year the Old Southportonian Association offers to pay for a small number of boys so that they can experience one of the many great courses on offer.

Students who have participated in one of these courses find that their work ethic, their teamwork and their general attitude has benefited from the course.

These courses are also a great way to meet new friends from all over Australia and even internationally with regular participants coming from Singapore and other countries around the world.

Past Participants

"I never realized just how far I could push myself until I had been on an Outward Bound course. It forced me to confront my mental barriers and to break through them. The course also gave me the unequalled opportunity to lead a group of friends through harsh terrain, all the while attempting to put my own pain aside and help my group members up the hills and through the valleys. The friends that I made on my course will be with me throughout my life and I hold my participation in the Outward Bound course as being a pivotal part of my life. I thank the Old Boys Association for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime and I strongly advise any other boy of the school to take part in a course. "

Course Available

There are a number of courses that are available. Some of these courses are restricted by age and they vary in the amount of days. Each course can be anywhere between 10 and 30 days long.
