The Southport Cadets

Services within TSS dates as far back as October 1906 in which the cadet unit was first raised in the school and was only Army. Today the school has all three services ( Navy, Army & Air Force).

The main Aim Of cadets is to teach Discipline, Confidence, Self-esteem, Teamwork and Leadership skills.

Cadets is currently held on each Monday afternoon of the school term and parade from 3:30pm-5:30pm. It is compulsory for all year 9 students to be a member of one of the services and if they choose to may continue on in years 10,11 & 12. If they continue on in cadets they will be taught leadership skills and if they are selected may go on to do courses that will gain them the qualifications to be promoted and be in command of cadets.
