REGIONAL & STATE DATES FOR 2009

With school sport, there are many differing ways to compete for your School. The Southport School is a foundation member of the Great Public Schools' Association of Qld (GPS), and regularly competes on weekends against other member schools in South East Queensland.

Another avenue to representing TSS is via the Independent District and South Coast Region. This Queensland Education Sports Association enables students to represent in a wide variety of differing sports, including many that TSS do not compete in regularly.

To be selected in the District Team students must first apply for qualification to the District trials (see attached form). From these trials, students will be selected to compete in the South Coast Regional trials, then from here State Championships, and onto possibly National / International representation.

At TSS, if a student wants to be considered for any of these sports, he MUST;

#1. Print off District Form and fill in all relevant information.

#2. Hand this form into the Sports Office, prior to the Trial date.

#3. Approval by TSS to represent at the Trial will be granted, and the student can attend the nominated Trial. NO STUDENT CAN ATTEND A DISTRICT TRIAL WITHOUT APPROVAL FROM THE SCHOOL'S SPORTS OFFICE.

Listed below are forms and sites with all the relevant information regarding the District selection, Regional trials, and State Championships.
