Ms Jo Inglis – Deputy Headmaster – Head of Learning and Teaching
TSS class of 2017 academic results were very pleasing, enabling the vast majority of TSS graduates to gain acceptance into their first or second choice of tertiary course. Congratulations to a cohort of fine young men who focussed purposefully on their academic development with very strong outcomes.
2018 sees the final OP cohort commence their Year 11 studies as Queensland schools concurrently prepare students for the New QCE and ATAR – Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank. TSS continues to stage a gradual shift of the academic year to ensure that the class of 2020 – the first cohort of the New QCE – are prepared for Year 12 external exams, which will begin in early in Term 4 of 2020.
TSS students have started 2018 with energy and focus, with students in Years 8-10 resuming Unit 1 work for which a ‘head-start’ was completed in the final 3 weeks of 2017. Combined with Year 7-10 Unit 1 work being assessed in Week 6 of Term 1 and the Commonwealth Games arrangements extending the Easter break to 3 weeks, Parent/Student/Teacher Interviews will take place in the final week of Term 1, assisting boarder parents with access to their son’s teachers as they collect him for the holiday break. Year 11&12 students will have completed their Term 1 assessment in time for feedback to be provided at the interviews.
Parents will be contacted regarding the process for booking appointments towards the middle of Term 1.
