TSS Preparatory School online curriculum delivery guide for Parents

Applicable to any school closure that may occur due to COVID-19 before the end of Term 1 2020

Rationale

Continuation of curriculum delivery via familiar and consistent experience across subjects (students) and year levels (parents)

Technical

Normal TSS Preparatory School timetable maintained – students are provided with content and tasks in relation to the subjects identified each day.

TSS Preparatory will deliver the online learning environment through PREPBOOK. Links embedded in the timetable will at times direct students to other software platforms.

Student Requirements

Device and internet connection

Normal school equipment and texts as directed to take home by class teachers.

Pedagogical

  • Weekly class timetable overview posted to PREPBOOK.
  • Boys will work through their daily timetable working either via the embedded link or using texts or workbooks supplied by the teacher.
  • Live ‘conferencing’:- This may be morning ‘overview’ orientation session, numeracy or literacy lesson or other subject lesson. Teachers will indicate on the timetable which lessons are delivered via live streaming conferences.
  • Tasks will primarily be embedded links within PREPBOOK and accessed through the class timetable as well as additional resources eg:- Powerpoint presentations, Big Write stimulus materials.
  • Prepbook to be as much as possible the ‘one stop’ shop for all parent and student engagement online.

Notes

Lessons will follow the schedule provided in the timetable.
Outside of lesson time, students and/or parents may (only) communicate inwardly to classroom teacher via email. Teachers may telephone students/parents only if urgent/appropriate
