TSS has an enviable reputation for excellence in boarding for boys that has been earned over many generations and Rogers House meets the unique needs of our Year 7 boarders.

Year 7 Boarding House

Whilst Rogers is contained within the TSS Campus, it’s been created as a “stand alone” House removed from the other secondary houses. This in no way limits the boys’ access to the world-class facilities and dynamic life of the School, but it serves to provide a little “breathing space” in which they can more comfortably adapt. Rogers is modern, spacious and homely with 44 beds in communal dorms, which – like the shower and bathroom facilities – are designed to afford individual privacy for each boy. A large common room overlooking the Nerang river serves as a natural gathering space for games and activities.

‘Not’ A Typical Rogers Sleepover Schedule

Due to limitations this year, we are hosting our Rogers Sleepovers a little differently. Two Sleepovers will be held in November to coincide with Year 7, 2021 Transition Day. This will mean our 2021 Rogers boys will have the opportunity to join in with all the other ‘new’ boys to the Senior School on this day.

Rogers Sleepovers are particularly helpful for students with concerns about boarding. We assure you that when you pick your son up after one of our sleepovers, he cannot wait to come back!

What to Bring?

For the Rogers Sleepover, the boys are required to bring with them:

  • Current School Uniform – on Transition day (Wednesday 3 November), all new boys will be wearing their current school uniform
  • Long pants
  • Collared shirt
  • Runners
  • Thongs
  • Sports shirt and shorts
  • Bath Towel
  • Beach Towel
  • Board shorts/swimmers
  • Rash/Wet shirt
  • Toiletries
  • Additional change of casual clothes
  • Pyjamas
  • Broad brimmed hat
  • Doona & doona cover

It is understandable that some of these items will be difficult to transport. If you are unable to bring a doona and cover, please advise us and we will be happy to provide one for you.

Unfortunately at these two Rogers Sleepover events we will not be hosting an Open House morning.

Although it may be true that “there’s no place like home”, Rogers House comes very close and in terms of providing exceptional boarding for Year 7, it’s equally true that “there’s no place like Rogers”.
