Dean of Boarding

Mr Tony Watt

Term 1, Week 7

End of Term

On behalf of the Boarding staff can I thank parents for their understanding and cooperation with the recent disruptions to the term program as a result of the well published sickness. At the time of writing, we have no Boarder boys in the Health Centre which is a pleasing sign. My thanks to our Health Centre and maintenance staff for their amazing ongoing efforts in ensuring your boys were well catered for. Details of the end of term transport options are below:

Last Day of Term One: Friday 23 March

Boarding Houses will remain open over the weekend (24 and 25 March) to facilitate boarder travel.

Could we ask you to email Dee Williams directly to update your son/s travel details.

We have hired a 12 seat shuttle to transfer boys to the airport on Saturday and Sunday. We will organise a number of airport runs for boarders once flight times have been established.

Boarder Parent Support Group Meeting

The AGM of the BPSG meeting is to be held tomorrow at 3:30pm in the Memorial Room. Headmaster Greg Wain will provide the most recent update regarding the Norovirus while I will deliver a Dean of Boarding Report outlining core strategic boarding priorities and projects. Both reports will be filmed and sent to boarder parents to ensure everyone is informed.

Update from the Kitchen

In the first Boarding Bulletin of the year, I spoke about the kitchen giving us a small snapshot or insight into the Dining Hall offerings. This week, Kitchen Manager Clive, gives us a brief snapshot as seen in the below video.

And what do we do at TSS Boarding when we have almost come through the other side of a 5 week highly contagious virus?

TSS Trips and Events in the Broader Community

The 2018 trips and event calendar has been confirmed but we would welcome any family or district that would like to host an event to get in contact with me directly. We are heading off to Goondiwindi next Thursday and Friday as evident in the below invitation- we look forward to seeing as many people as we can. The Headmaster, Mr Bos and I are travelling to Charleville (May 11), Tambo (May 12) and Moura (June 7). Functions and events are also planned for Byron Bay, Casino, Surat, Moree, Hong Kong, and PNG. We look forward to sponsoring other communities through local events and campdrafts, as well as ICPA Sports Camps and Musters. More details will come in future editions but again we are always keen to travel and support the communities where our families come from.
