Conan Bland, Assistant Housemaster
It has certainly been a busy term as we find ourselves in the final week of Term 2. Considering what we have managed to cram into the space of nine weeks it is no wonder that the boys are in need of a holiday. It has been a very successful term with the boys doing exceptionally well in the three key house events (First in Cross Country, First in Drama and Third in the latest Cluster) and the boys are to be congratulated for their commitment and involvement. Exams are all but over for most of the boys and I have been pleased with the way they have prepared for this period and I hope this is reflected in their results.
A reminder to finalise leave arrangements and to enter details into REACH. We understand that there have been a number of glitches with the program as late, and we do apologise for these issues. If you are experiencing any difficulty, please send us through your concerns and we will pass it onto relevant staff.
This week we bid farewell to our Resident Master, Mr Joel Menzies who has been working in the house for the last two years. Joel has been exceptional in Delpratt and he has been extremely reliable and dependable and I know that the boys will miss him next term.
Rugby and Basketball season preparations are already well under way and this should see the largest participation of boys in the House which will mean a very quiet House on an away game Saturday.
On a personal note, Gemma and I have thoroughly enjoyed our first six months as part of the Delpratt Community and we are thrilled to be expecting another addition to the house in November with the arrival of a little sister for Archie.
I would like to extend to all families a very safe, restful and happy holiday. We look forward to welcoming boys back on Monday 10th July.
