Year 10 ‘Man up – Find ya Feet – You and Me’ Workshops last week

Last Thursday and Friday we welcomed Barney and Kada Miller and Tom Herschell to TSS where they explored healthy masculinity, relationships and the sharing of stories with our Year 10 boys. These workshops are part of our Manup program which runs throughout the course of the year.

This work is vitally important as we explore how our boys treat the people around them and care for themselves. We were extremely proud of how the cohort treated and respected this space.

The Year 10 group will continue the program on their Year 10 Camp next term.

“We have achieved so much in the 13 years we have been together. Travelling between our home of Sawtell & our second home in Carlsbad, California for both Barney’s therapy & my music and then to some of the worlds best surf spots, which has given us so many great memories. We are a true force when it comes to following our hearts. In 2016, we released a world wide cinema release of our feature documentary “You and Me” a story about our life, our love, our struggles & the power of relationships to help you through both the good times & the bad. We later released a biography in 2018 called “The Essence of You and Me” which is a deeper invitation into the thoughts, memories, & stories that not only make us who we are but that have brought us to this moment. In our minds there is no obstacle too hard and no dream too big to follow. Since the films release we have been travelling to High Schools around the country sharing the film, conversations & my music. We have a true passion for sharing hope with the upcoming generations to show them that their dreams are important & worth chasing & it all starts with conversation.”

School Based Workshops

“Find Ya Feet run school based workshops with students year 6-12.   Our content covers topics such owning our story, challenging what it means to be a fella, looking at where we’ve been, where we are at, and where we are going. We do that by championing vulnerability, role modelling speaking up, and showing why a real man puts up his hand for help. This workshop transforms the bloke who thinks its weak to speak into the champion who knows we go from zero to hero simply by telling and owning our story”.
