TSS Surf Morning and Pride in Prayer

Mr Karel Bos, Deputy Headmaster – Head of Senior School

Last Friday,  Mr Wallace with the support of our TSS parents and staff launched a surfing morning at Northcliffe Surf Life Saving Club. The event was attended by over fifty boys and ten staff who competed in surfing heats and finals. The Ray and Bos families kindly donated prizes, breakfast and alongside MNM Board riders and the Northcliffe Surf life Saving Club hosted this event which promoted our MENS REMAP pillars. Please see attached a http://Mr Mike Wallace Surf Report comprehensive report written by Mr Wallace with a full list of winners and highlights from the morning – a great initiative led by Mr Wallace and Tom Maurice.

‘Relationships’ forged through our community and instilled with our staff and students is critical at TSS and this morning gave us a platform to strengthen this bond and belonging. Mr Sleeman, has kindly created a video that shows a snapshot of the morning – please see below.

This week our Chapel theme has centered on being proud of your faith, prayer and relationship with God. The boys have reflected on the story of St Peter and how he denied Jesus three times on the eve of the Crucifixion and how we are faced at times to give testimony to Christ’s love and support amidst pressure. This was an opportunity to remind ourselves about the times when we do rely on God and Jesus for help and support with a sick and loved one. How do we acknowledge this and ensure this relationship is reciprocal ? The boys were led by members of the Chapel Boarding Band as they were encouraged to sing with pride and deliver a prayer of song to those in our community who are struggling at the moment.

Mr Ian Browne leads this Chapel Boarding Band and they have been an energized force in the school this term as they sing at Chapels and will lead the entire school community next week on Thursday at the Annand.
