Mark Hoppe | Dixon Housemaster
Dixon House takes the reins of fundraising the Prep School for Term Four and we’d love to encourage all Prep Students to get involved, even over the holidays. This year, Dixon will be coordinating “Operation Christmas Child” by Samaritan’s Purse which aims to provide disadvantaged children across the world the joy of opening a small present on Christmas Day. For some of these children, it will be the first time they’ve ever received a gift. Dixon House has hundreds of shoeboxes ready to be filled and the experience of packing a shoebox can be a very rewarding experience for parents and children alike. The total value of a shoebox should only be $10-$15 and include some of the suggested items below. More information will be provided on Prepbook after the holidays but if you’re looking for a worthwhile experience to engage in with your son, then Operation Christmas Child is for you.
The class that supports this initiative with the most number of shoeboxes will be acknowledged with a surprise lunch at the end of Term Four.

After the success of Dixon’s annual Easter Raffle in recent years, we will also be running a monster Christmas Raffle, supported by a host of TSS businesses and local attractions & accommodation providers. Keep a look out for the Dixon Christmas Raffle flyers early in Term 4. It’s shaping up to be a bumper prize pool, totaling over $1,000 in prizes.
