Junior Sports Coach – Football

Commencing March 2020

The Southport School’s Preparatory School provides an outstanding education for boys. The Preparatory School is very proud of its dedicated team of teachers who understand the special ways in which boys learn and who carefully nurture authentic relationships based upon mutual respect and genuine care. These relationships are the key to the Preparatory School’s success as boys and teachers work together in setting and achieving Academic, Sporting and Cultural goals.

As a member of the Great Public Schools’ Association of Queensland, our School has a proud sporting heritage. Our junior sport program is about to commence for the 2020 season.

We are seeking accredited Level 1 & 2 Junior Football coaches for the 2020 season which runs from March to August. Teams will train once a week and matches are played on Saturday. Coaches must be available for all training sessions, matches and pre-season meetings/coaches induction programs etc.

Applications should include:

  • a cover letter providing a brief overview of your coaching philosophy and experience,
  • full curriculum vitae including most recent coaching experience and qualifications
  • the contact details of three recent confidential referees.

Successful candidates will be willing to adopt the Code of Conduct and support the stated values and Christian Ethos of the School and must hold or be eligible to hold a working with children blue card and may be asked to provide a recent Police check certificate.

Admissions Administration Officer

Full time position (this is not a term time position) – Commencing March 2020

The Southport School is a leading Anglican Day and Boarding school for boys situated on the banks of the Nerang River in the heart of the Gold Coast. The Southport School has been established for 119 years and is committed to providing excellence in leadership, learning and teaching, pastoral care and extra-curricular endeavours within a balanced, holistic Christian environment. The School has a vibrant academic, boarding and sporting program that extends across the full year and two campuses.

The Southport School is now seeking an Admissions Administration officer who will provide full time administrative support and services to the Admissions Registrar. This role works closely with, and in support of the Admissions Registrar, our marketing team, our leadership teams, our boarding community and current and prospective parent community. Often as the first point of contact for our prospective parents, it is essential that candidates have exemplary presentation and a professional warmth in terms of their communication skills that will support and counsel our community through one of the most important decisions and investments a parent will make, the education of their child.

The School is focused on securing a candidate who has a blend of experiences and skills that include but are not limited to:

  • The ability to work independently and be part of a team, demonstrating initiative and proactivity.
  • Demonstrate strong technical administrative skills including advanced use of Excel, Word, Outlook and database management (TASS).
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to structure, plan and manage priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrates a professional front of house service and can communicate effectively with warmth, empathy, compassion and care for our prospective families and students.
  • Specific exposure to CRICOS and the management of FFPOS and experience with the TASS system would be considered very beneficial though not essential.

The role would be responsible for:

  • Providing administrative support and services to the Admissions Registrar.
  • First point of contact for all Admission and Scholarship enquiries.
  • Management of the Admissions database (TASS) and Boarding register.
  • Preparation and dispatching of prospectus, letters of offer, verification and collation of application documentation, coordination and distribution of new student orientation and relevant documentation for new students.
  • Maintenance of international student visa records, update of CRICOS Handbook, and PRISMS registration
  • Responding to all general email, telephone and walk in admissions enquiries.
  • Arrange interviews, tours and application assessments for the Registrar, Dean of Boarding and Head of Preparatory School.
  • Manage specific enquiries and functions across the Admissions office in the Registrar’s absence.
