Health and Physical Education Teacher – TSS Preparatory School

Part-Time 3 days per week, Commencing Term 1, 2018

The Southport School, one of Queensland’s leading schools for boys, is seeking a dedicated and highly-skilled primary school Health and Physical Education specialist for a part time teaching position within the Preparatory School commencing in 2018.

We are looking for intuitive and innovative professionals, with a willingness to go above and beyond; educators who fully understand the benefits of building positive relationships with their students, and who enjoy engaging with them across the breadth of the school’s comprehensive academic, pastoral and co-curricular program.

The successful candidate will have an outstanding knowledge of relevant curriculum and teaching pedagogy and be excited by the opportunity to be part of a professional learning community. An understanding and appreciation of the learning styles of boys would be considered an advantage and as a member of the TSS team, you will be willing to support the stated values and Christian Ethos of the School and must hold or be eligible for Queensland Teacher Registration.

To be considered for this HPE position, candidates will have a genuine passion for Health and Physical Education and sports coaching in the Primary Years. Teaching duties may include teaching from Preschool to Year 6. We are seeking an outstanding professional who is confident teaching across a range of sports and will be a role model within the department and across the wider school community.

The successful candidate will be expected to make a significant contribution to the co-curricular sporting program throughout the year. This added responsibility carries with it additional remuneration, dependent on level of involvement.

Experience in one or more of the following Sports in desirable, but not essential. Basketball, Cricket, Football, Rugby or Track and Field.

Cricket Coaches

The Southport School is a leading Anglican Day and Boarding school for boys. TSS has been established for 115 years and is committed to providing excellence in learning and teaching, pastoral care and extra-curricular endeavours within a balanced, holistic Christian environment.

As a member of the Great Public Schools’ Association of Queensland, our School fields teams in the highly competitive GPS program.

We are seeking accredited coaches for the 2017/18 season Nov-March. Teams will train 1-2 times per week, matches are played on Saturday. Coaches must be available for all training sessions, matches and pre-season meetings.
