Director of Athletic Performance

Full time position (not term time) – Commencing early January 2018

The Southport School is a leading Anglican Day and Boarding school for boys situated on the banks of the beautiful Nerang River in the heart of the Gold Coast. The Southport School has been established for 116 years and is committed to providing a holistic education for boys focused on excellence in leadership, learning and teaching, pastoral care and extra-curricular endeavors within a balanced Christian environment.

TSS has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced high performance strength and conditioning professional who will implement a first class, innovative strength and conditioning programs across a wide range of TSS sports and associated clubs. This would also include wellbeing strategies for the wider school community along with targeted high performance programs for the schools senior teams and representative athletes.

This role will be a full time role providing services 48 weeks per year with 4 weeks of annual leave, and will require 38 hours per week, potentially operating a split shift and a short Saturday morning shift to assist with the planning and implementation of before and after school training programs – actual hours may be subject to negotiation.

To be considered for this role candidates ideally will have:

  • Have a minimum of 5 years professional strength and conditioning experience;
  • A relevant tertiary/industry qualification i.e. Sports Science Degree, ASCA Level 2 or higher;
  • Worked with a varied client base across different sporting disciplines – professional school or student based experience is highly beneficial though not essential;
  • Demonstrated experience in working with high performance individuals and teams as well as providing strategies to support nutrition, general strength, fitness and wellbeing to the broader (student) community;
  • Experience in data tracking programs and progress;
  • Experience in developing prehab and rehab programs; and
  • Experience in managing a gym space and providing safe practice inductions to all stakeholders (staff and students).

Student Services Administration Officer

Commencing 15th January 2018 – Full time – term time + 2 weeks – fixed term contract

The Southport School is a leading Anglican Day and Boarding school for boys situated on the Gold Coast. The Southport School has been established for 114 years and is committed to providing excellence in leadership, learning and teaching, pastoral care and extra-curricular endeavors within a balanced, holistic Christian environment. The School has a vibrant Boarding, Sporting and Education program that extends across the full year and two campuses.

The Southport School is seeking an Administration Officer who will provide full time administrative support and front of house services in our very busy Student Services Reception area. This is one of the busiest areas in the school with this space being the primary daily student and parent access point for all student activity and pastoral care enquiries.

The role would be responsible for:

  • Day to day administrative support for the Deans of Students and School Psychologists.
  • Operational coordination of weekly assemblies and special assembly events i.e. ANZAC Day, Speech Day, Graduation Day, etc.
  • Providing administrative and logistical support for Housemasters as and when required including meeting agendas and minutes.
  • Providing a term of ‘staff relief’ management in our Studies team.
  • Providing ‘front of house’ support and services for our students and their families.
  • Liaising with Government departments as and when required in support of student services including administration required for student vaccinations etc.

Cricket Coaches

The Southport School is a leading Anglican Day and Boarding school for boys. TSS has been established for 115 years and is committed to providing excellence in learning and teaching, pastoral care and extra-curricular endeavours within a balanced, holistic Christian environment.

As a member of the Great Public Schools’ Association of Queensland, our School fields teams in the highly competitive GPS program.

We are seeking accredited coaches for the 2017/18 season Nov-March. Teams will train 1-2 times per week, matches are played on Saturday. Coaches must be available for all training sessions, matches and pre-season meetings.
