The Southport School is a leading Anglican Day and Boarding School for boys situated on the banks of the beautiful Nerang River in the heart of the Gold Coast. The Southport School (TSS) has been established for 120 years and we are extremely proud to say that Boarding life has always been an integral feature of TSS since the first boarders arrived in 1909 into Thorold, McKinley, and Delpratt Houses. The boarders bring to TSS personal qualities and give the School a unique soul, a life and sense of community.
The Southport School is now seeking applications for our year 7 boarding house, Rogers House. This role requires a special leader who understands the unique needs and transitional challenges that are faced by our youngest boarders and their families as they enter the TSS boarding community, many entering a formal school environment and setting for the first time. A blend of empathy, structure, a sense of safety and security are essential qualities that the successful candidate will articulate and demonstrate through their application. This role is responsible for managing the boarding house team, including supervision rostering and activity program. Importantly, this role is not only responsible for providing primary care of the boys in the House, but also the delivery of our extensive student wellbeing and pastoral care program in place for our students at The Southport School. As such applicants should have experience in Boarding and in delivering pastoral programs specifically targeted to Year 7 students.
Candidates are encouraged to highlight in their applications:
Applicants should ideally hold the ABSA Duty of Care qualifications, have experience in boarding, are expected to have read and support the Anglican Schools Code of Conduct and be aligned with the stated values and Christian Ethos of the School. Applicants must hold current QCT registration and will be required to provide a recent Federal Police or Criminal History Check certificate.
All applications must be submitted online and completed in full. Only applications submitted online will be considered.
Applications close on 24th May at 8.00am and should be directed to:
