Architect for A Day – Free event – Calling all Grade 10, 11 and 12 students looking to study architecture!

The Australian Institute of Architects are once again running the very popular Architect for a Day event for high school students. This year, we are excited to run this free half-day creative workshop at the BOND university’s Gold Coast Campus on the 10th of October, and on the Sunshine Coast at the University of the Sunshine Coast Sippy Downs Campus on the 9th of October. The students at your school are very welcome to register to attend and explore the possibility of studying architecture when they graduate high school.

Architecture is one of the most influential professions in our global society. It influences the way in which the built environment is planned, designed, made, used, and maintained. Architecture brings together the arts, environmental awareness, sciences, and technology. As an architect, you play a vital part in shaping the environment in which we live.

The Architect for a day event allows high school students the opportunity to ask questions to university representatives about studying architecture and build your own model according to a real design brief.  Students will enjoy:

Speaking with current students, graduates, academics and practitioners about architecture, design, planning, and sustainability pathways.

Learning through making with dynamic and fun activities including model making and design sketching

Hear from architectural practitioners who will provide an insight about what it is like to be an architect day to day

This event will have representatives from the Queensland architecture and design schools (Bond University, Griffith University, Queensland University of Technology and The University of Queensland, Torrens university and the University of the Sunshine Coast) present to provide information about the selection of relevant university programs.  Register here: https://members.architecture.com.au/EventDetail?EventKey=QLD031021
