Educational Access Scheme (EAS)

Can 2021 Year 12 students apply for EAS based on the impact of COVID-19?

Year 12 students whose studies have been negatively impacted by COVID-19 should, in the first instance, work with their school and QCAA for any Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments (AARA) available within their specific circumstances.

The QTAC Educational Access Scheme (EAS) is open to all year 12s whose studies have been impacted by COVID-19. Each EAS applicant must make a case based on their individual circumstances and supply all the supporting documents normally required for the category in which they are applying.

To see some examples of COVID-19 related circumstances that are considered in different EAS categories.

GRIFFITH ENG Program 2021 – Applications are open

Applications for the 2021 intake into the GRIFFITH ENG Program are now open!

Griffith University is excited to offer Year 11 students the opportunity to take part in GRIFFITH ENG Program commencing in late 2021. The program is designed to encourage students interested in pursuing a career in engineering to study the equivalent of a first-year first trimester Griffith University course during their senior years.

GRIFFITH ENG is a two-stage program. Stage one, A Taste of Engineering, consists of an intensive Experience Day offered to Year 11 students, covering the practical components of various engineering disciplines. Students who successfully complete the Taste of Engineering will be invited to enrol in GRIFFITH ENG in Year 12 to continue with stage two of the program in Trimester 1, 2022. Stage two provides a foundation in the mathematical sciences for later studies in science and engineering. It is expected that students will be taking this course at the same time as Mathematical Methods in Year 12. The material in this Stage introduces basic vector algebra in two and three dimensions, matrices, complex numbers, probability and revises basic functions. Students who successfully complete this course and choose to study Engineering at Griffith will receive full credit for Engineering Mathematics 1 (1010ENG).

High school students who complete the Program can:

  • Gain credit for a first-year engineering course, saving thousands of dollars in HECS bills and reducing the essential workload of the first-year in university.
  • Be awarded an adjusted selection rank
  • Access it all for FREE! All costs are covered by the University.

How to Apply:

Interested students can apply online at:

  • Select Program: GUESTS At School (9933), Part-time, Trimester 2, 2021, relevant campus (Gold Coast or Nathan)
  • Add Course: Griffith Eng for Year 11 (9000ENG). Select relevant campus (Gold Coast or Nathan)

Applications close on Friday 17 September 2021
