On the weekend eight TSS boys competed in our first ever Inter-school Campdraft, hosted in Warwick by St Margaret’s College. Seven school teams competed in two rounds of campdrafting; the top six scores from each team were averaged and used to decide the winning team; the top ten scores from the day got to run off for the individual prize.
I am very happy to say TSS won both – with an average of 86.6, 2nd was NEGS on 85.3, 3rd Goondiwindi High on 84.3, 4th St Margret’s College on 84, 5th Taroom High on 83, 6th Scot’s College on 81, 7th Ipswich Grammar on 69.
As you can see by the averages it was a quality show and the judge was none other than Terry Hall one of Australia’s best campdrafters. Tom Cannington was equal top score after the runoff for the individual event and survived another runoff to be the overall champion. The boys will have to return the trophy next year to compete again to try and retain it, not an easy task as I am sure it will be a tight competition.
I would like to thank the Rasheed, Dowling, Pearson, Cannington, Atthow, Sheppard, Watt and Curr families that made such a huge effort for our boys to compete, such parent support is always welcome here at TSS and is always forthcoming.
The cattle for the event were supplied by the McNamee family (a TSS family too) thanks
