Trisha Matthias | Preparatory School Music Master
I am seeing many instruments left in the cage from week to week. This indicates that your son is not practicing. In order to progress on his instrument it is important to have regular practice. How can you help? Well like anything it is best if you build this into his schedule. Encourage him to practice at least four times each week. Once they know that they are progressing, they will get so much more enjoyment out of performing. Music is also proven to enhance learning. Following is a links that shows that music has wonderful benefits for the brain. I encourage you to also show this to your son and work with him to regularly practice his instrument. You will really enjoy seeing him progress.
How playing an instrument benefits your brain (Anita Collins)
Each week a boy in Year 4 is awarded Band Man of the Week. He has worked hard during his lesson and in his band time. He is given a T Shirt for the day of band knowing he has done an excellent job. Well done Jack!
