This term in class music boys have been doing a unit on rhythm basketball. Boys have learned various drills in their groups and must work to keep this synchronized. They then have to choose three of these drills and create a routine. We have viewed some Stomp clips to give us some ideas on how using a basketball helps us to feel rhythm!
Here are video’s of some of the boys practicing their rhythm basketball.
Report from Music Captains | Zachary Battocchio, Andrew McMath and Jack Tee
On Tuesday of this week 20 boys from years 6 & 7 travelled to Nudgee College for the 2017 GPS Music Day of Excellence. This day is the one GPS event that is not about competition but about coming together as young musicians to rehearse for the day and then present a concert. It is about working together to achieve the highest standard possible.
The musicians are divided into three groups – Orchestra, Choir and Concert Band. While we have these ensembles here at Prep, the day allows us to work on more challenging and difficult music.
The concert was a wonderful presentation of our days work and we were pleased that we had been nominated to represent our school at this day of excellence. Congratulations to all boys who participated.
