Mr Robert Egan – Prep Sportsmaster
Happy New Year and welcome to all our Preparatory families.
This year of sport is sure to be a memorable one, with the Gold Coast welcoming the world, in the Commonwealth Games, our Junior Sports program growing from strength to strength and the GPS celebrating its centenary year.
Term one starts at a frantic pace in sport, with GPS fixtures from week one, a whole host of clubs, swim carnival and junior sport from week 2 and the rest. Communication is the key to succeeding this term for all our boys. Mrs Schroder and myself are always available in the office to answer any question no matter how big or small, prepbook is a great resource and tsssportqld.com is the go to for our GPS boys.
The recipe for success this year is to fall down 9 times but get up 10. Give everything a go. Get out of your comfort zone and try something new. If you are finding something challenging, keep going because you are learning something worthwhile.
We look forward to seeing you all on the oval, in the hall and pool this term.
Congratulations to Hudson for his effort in the Bond University Meet.
Samuel Barnes who is a student of Combined Martial Arts trains at TSS Prep with Bill Wakefield and his son guy. Samuel has competed in the ISKA competitions on the QLD circuit and the final championship rounds in Sydney, winning two QLD championships awards. He won two gold medals, one for Traditional Forms and the other gold for Traditional Weapons each of these events attracted many competitors. Samuel has been invited to be part of this years official ISKA Australian Team competing in the USA in July. We wish him all the best for the tournament.
