Mr Robert Egan | Prep Sportsmaster
What an actioned-packed and successful week of sport. The activity program began in earnest on Monday, which kept the boys on their toes as they juggled school work, training and their own co-curricular programs. The Scots College arrived on Friday, with a group of our fantastic parents showing the boys our first class TSS hospitality over the weekend, thank you from Marisa and I for making the boys feel so welcome. The weekend saw round 2 of GPS come and go for our Rugby and Chess, round 1 for GPS basketball get under way and our junior rugby and football programs hit their mid-season stride.
I spent Saturday at BBC with several of our GPS Basketball teams. The day really highlighted the strength and depth in our basketball program, with our year 5 and 6 boys playing back to back games against strong BBC teams and competing well. It was a pleasure to see how the boys conducted themselves away from school, displaying their polite manners, sportsmanship, talent and competitive nature in equal measure, both on and off the court. On that note, can I take a moment to thank our parents. The positive energy and enthusiasm you bring to the sidelines both home and away is transferring to the boys performance and approach to sport. It was great to see such a number of you over at TSS, as well as those who have made the journey up and down the Gold Coast, Toowoomba and Brisbane already this term.
Best of luck this weekend boys, I look forward to seeing a number of you in action and hearing about your weekend exploits on Monday.
