As we move towards the end of the year, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on what has been an exciting year of sport.
We wrapped up House Cricket last Friday. After three exciting rounds of T10 / T8 Cricket, it was an extremely close finish to the round-robin tournament. Three of the four houses reaching the final round still in contention to take home the converted trophy. It comes down to the last few overs of both the A and B divisions with Shepherd edging out Dixon for 2022. Well done to all boys from years 4 to 6 that were involved and thank you to the Housemasters and Senior School Cricketers for their support as umpires again this year. Congratulations to our winners Shepherd.
Gymnastics may be a smaller community at TSS but it certainly is one of the fittest. What I’d refer to as the three foundation sports, Gymnastics alongside Swimming and Athletics, promote all of the essentials when it comes to physical fitness. This sport really indorses physical activity, motor development, physical literacy and more at the lower levels, but watching the boys involved at the GPS levels you realise it requires much more, a strong combination of all of the components of fitness.
It was a pleasure of mine to be asked to present the awards this year, made twice as special presenting a number of those to Prep boys past and present. I would like to take a moment and congratulate all of our Prep gymnastics for a fantastic season, for their continued hard work, dedication and determination. This sport requires a lifestyle choice to compete at the highest level, putting in 15 plus hours a week of training, which speaks a lot to the boys character.
The future looks very bright for TSS Gymnastics.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words;
Lou Holtz once said; Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.
I’d like to wish both you and your family a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and look forward to welcoming you back in a few short weeks’ time.
