Mr Nick Walton, Tennis Coordinator
On Wednesday, 9th of November, the annual Schools Championship regional qualifier was held for Queensland Table Tennis here on the Gold Coast. Following from our pre-Covid participation, TSS entered 10 teams into the competition – more than double any other school! There were some fantastic performances as our teams of two battled to take out on of the two top spots and secure their way into the State Championships in December. Legion W and Angus B from Thorold House dominated Division 4, taking out the win comfortably in a perfect display of teamwork. Division 3 saw the finals become an all TSS affair, with Henry J and Leo K just edging out Jack P and Dan R for the 1st place honours. The pinnacle of the day however, was in the open division 1, where Jack B and Fletch R showed absolute dominance. These two boys have fought their way to becoming regional champs, and have earned the right to compete for the State Championship in a few weeks time.
Congratulations to all competing TSS players on the day!
