QCS Week 2017

Jo Inglis | Deputy Headmaster – Head of Learning and Teaching

The Queensland Core Skills Test takes place at this time each year with OP eligible students compulsorily required to complete the arduous two day, four-paper test. TSS QCS preparation program culminates on the Monday prior to the QCS Test with a final cohort meeting in the Annand Theatre at which TSS Old Boys share their experiences of QCS, finishing school, university, work and life after school. The Class of 2017 welcomed back Toby Redler ’16, Jack Fox ’09, Leigh Holtsbaum ’99 and Andrew Hawkins ’95 who shared their respective journeys, illustrating the breadth of prospect for boys who keep an open mind to opportunity. With critical Term 3 exams and the QCS Test taking place this week, the class of 2017 were reminded of the ‘Big Picture’ as well as the multiple pathways that can lead to a ‘Good and Meaningful Life’.

QCS/Yr12 Exam Assembly (livestreamed to Yr12 Parents) Monday period 4 provides an opportunity for the school to demonstrate their support & encouragement of the Year 12 cohort as they prepare for the QCS Test and Term 3 Exams.

QCS Test Game Day – Vice-Captain of the Academic 1sts Daniel Shum addressed the OP cohort, reminding boys to do their best for themselves, their peers, teachers, school and families. Vice-Captain of the Academic 1sts lead The Class of 2017 in a rousing TSS War Cry prior to entering the Centenary Centre.

We wish the Class of 2017 all the very best and know they gave their very best to the QCS Test and will do the same for their Term 3 exams.
