Mr Andrew Stark – Head of Libraries
All parents of boys in Years 10 and 11 (2019) are reminded that the Parent Study Skills program presentations are available via the ‘Presentations and Tutorials’ tab on the Library Webpage. They may also be found in previous weeks’ newsletter articles. Don’t forget your new best friend – the blue cloud.
Rest-assured, a similar Study Skills Program will be held for parents of boys in Years 7 to 9 in the early stages of Term One – dates are to be confirmed.
This week, as boys commenced the 2020 academic year, the Senior Library was very busy allocating textbooks to all classes. Please note: boys may not be able to borrow their 2020 texts if they still have outstanding or overdue 2019 resources. The 2019 resources must be returned so the next year group can borrow them for 2020. Your support is appreciated.
Lastly, we were hoping to have the next TSS and St Hilda’s Philosophy and Reading Club meeting at HOTA on Saturday 9th November to include attending the NTL (National Theatre of London) film presentation of ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’. This has been postponed (by HOTA). There is, however, the opportunity for boys to attend a music performance of ‘Blue – the Joni Mitchell Story’ on the same evening commencing at 7.30pm. All boys involved with Philosophy Club have been emailed and must get back to me by Thursday 7/11 if they wish to attend. There is no cost involved; show commences at 7.30pm at HOTA and should last for about 60 minutes.
Please contact me if you would like further details.
