Miss Caitlin Anderson – Wellbeing Health Promotion Officer
At The Southport School, we aim to develop boys who are confident, happy and responsible, with skills in the areas of leadership, thinking, creativity and emotional intelligence.
Leaders are those who take responsibility for influencing others for the betterment of the group. We want TSS boys to be leaders in all areas, both inside and outside our school community and to use their skills to improve the lives of others.
Current research in the fields of wellbeing health and positive education is clear that in developing these leadership attributes, there are some key elements that can help our boys to flourish. We represent these as MENS REMAP – mindfulness, exercise, nutrition, sleep, relationships, engagement, meaning, accomplishment, and positive emotion.
This week, our Director of Wellbeing Health and Counselling re-introduced MENS REMAP in Chapel this week and stressed it’s importance in our everyday life.
Next week we will be hearing from our students on their thoughts around wellbeing health at TSS. This will assist in the development of a bespoke program for our students and feedback will be collected via a senior school wide wellbeing survey. We will also be calling out to students to become a 2018 Wellbeing Health Leader who will be involved with targeted initiatives throughout the school year.
