Round 3 of the GPS Cricket “Challenge” Round

Mr Steven Baker, Director of Cricket

Round 3 GPS Cricket for TSS was a challenge round and a chance to enjoy participation in a great day of cricket. All TSS teams played against a range of opponents including Downlands College, Ambrose Treacy College, Brisbane Grammar and Churchie.

Bowling and batting orders were moved around and TSS still managed to win a host of games including a clean sweep in opens First XI, Second XI, Third XI, 11C, 10A vs Downlands First XI, 10B, 9A, 9B, 8A, 8B, 8C, 7B, 7C, 7D, 7F and 5C’s.

Special mention goes to Billy Walker with a fine hundred and consistent Stirling Smith 55no and two wickets in a Second XI Win. Alistair Philp tore through Downlands First XI with 5/15 off eight overs. Riley Johnson chimed in with 51no in 9A’s, Lachie Crump 63 off 34 balls and Judd Markham 54no in First XI were fine achievements.

TSS First XI played Ambrose Treacy College (ATC) at home on the VG. ATC after their allotted 40 overs finished 7-170.

Best of the bowlers was Liam O’Connor with three wickets and an honourable mention to Jack Sinfield and Nick Williams who both took two catches. TSS went about their batting with aggression and reached the target two wickets down in the 27th over. Well batted Judd Markham (54ret) and Lochlan Crump (64ret.) Both batted very well and were retired to give others a hit out before we meet IGS next week.
