Round 9 Cricket TSS vs GT: TSS Premiers in 2021

Last Round of GPS Cricket 2021 concluded vs “Heavy Weights” Gregory Terrace.

TSS First XI faced the scenario that First XI needed to win to reclaim the Earle Williams Trophy back to TSS. TSS won the toss and elected to bowl. Early pressure had GT 3/28 at the first drinks break. Maintained pressure from the TSS bowlers saw GT bowl out for 108 in the 42nd over. Tom Gossett, Lachlan Crump and Liam O’Connor all picked up three wickets each. TSS lost their first wicket without scoring. After the early wicket Lachlan Crump (26) dug deep to put TSS in a good position to chase down the total. Some smart batting by Jack Sinfield (37nt) and Tom Gossett (34nt) passed the total in the 30th over. Congratulations TSS First XI boys on the undefeated First XI premiership in 2021 and 22nd for the school in GPS.

TSS won a host of games including First XI, Years 11A, 11C, 10A, 8A, 7A, 6B, 5A and 5C.

Notable contributors of the day was five wicket hauls by Max Otto 6/16 off eight overs in Year 11As and Peter Bousgas 5/27 off four overs and William Johnson a fine 71 in Year 10Cs. Zach Dart 70no and Zac Boardman 52 brought the Year 11Cs home in 11 overs for an undefeated season.

Cameron Sinfield set it alight with an emphatic 101 off 38 balls including 11 sixes in an Year 8As.

Year 8As coached by Brett Smith and David Hall finished top of the table and Year 11Cs coached by Bryce Goldburg and Old Boy Jack Hocart had an undefeated season.
