Mr David Thomas, Director of Swimming
The boys finished their swimming season with a strong showing in Adelaide at the National Championships over Easter.
In great form after strong showings at GPS, Qld Championships and South Coast, the boys were excited to make the trip south and test themselves against the best in the country.
A week away from home competing at this level is a massive learning experience and I think the Boys learn more in a week of competition like this than in a whole training cycle. This process leaves us hungry for the challenges of next season.
A week’s worth of excellent performances saw the boys finish seventh in the Male Championship and 11th overall in the combined Boys/Girls Club Championship – this is a huge improvement from 38th in 2021. This is testament to the hard work of the boys this season. having two relay teams place in the top ten is also exciting – showing a depth of boys and great team spirit.
