TSS Tennis Takes 2nd in Red Ball Tournament

Mr David Hodge – Director of Tennis

Just prior to the September holidays a team of ten TSS Tennis Prep boys traveled to Somerset College to participate in a Red Ball tournament for children aged from grades 1-5.  Our TSS team consisted of Lachlan Crain, William Nye, Lachlan Nash, Zac Melton, Alex Walker, James Lynton, Bodhi Dobson-Miller, Lachlan Pask, and John and Lachlan Cleverly.

Limited to the use of red balls and small-sized courts, it was a day all about control, and the ability to keep the ball in play.  In a round robin format, all children got the chance to play plenty of tennis, and each of the TSS boys made the most of it, soaking up as much court-time as they could throughout a long, hot day.

Their efforts paid off, as they claimed well-earned wins over four of their five opposition teams, only going down to Somerset in what amounted to a nail-biting final.  It was a very impressive display from our team, as they played smart, disciplined tennis, and demonstrated great skills throughout the day.

Congratulations to all of our boys on achieving an excellent second place.  Not only did they perform very well, but showed outstanding sportsmanship and fairness throughout the day, representing TSS brilliantly.

Bring on next year!
