TSS followed up last week’s 7-1 thrashing of BSHS with another superb performance against TGS, sweeping them 8 matches to 0. The McCarthy boys doubles team were relentless and beat both opposing pairs without dropping a single game, winning 6-0 6-0 both times. Ryan Selvey and Will Timoney had a tougher time in their opening doubles, winning it in 3 sets before dominating their second match 6-2 6-2.
It was a very disciplined performance in the singles by all 4 boys losing a total of 5 games between them over 8 sets of tennis. The scores from player 1 through to player 4 were 6-2 6-1, 6-0 6-1, 6-0 6-1, 6-0 6-0.
The next 3 weeks see the boys come up against the other 3 strongest championship contenders in the competition. They travel to BGS next week and after taking a day off on Sunday, the boys will begin their preparations on Labour Day. Any support that can be given to the boys over the next few weeks will be greatly appreciated and we would love to see as many TSS supporters in the stands as possible!
