Introducing “The Zen Zone”! A space where students can unwind, relax, have fun, meet new people and express creativity.
Every single person has the ability to paint and create art. Painting is a way to relieve stress and relax. It can also increase confidence and creativity. There are many benefits to painting, however the most obvious reason to paint is because it is fun!
Every Tuesday and Thursday, between 1:00 and 1:30pm, the art rooms will be open for students to paint. The space is designed to give the boys an alternative activity to participate in during lunch.
For boys who want a task more structured than free painting, they will be invited to participate in a school project for the upcoming Commonwealth Games. As a school we are producing some paintings to be displayed in the Commonwealth Games Village. The paintings will be on canvas, the theme is “Our Place”. During the games athletes will be encouraged to take a photo of themselves holding the artwork and upload this to Facebook/Instagram with the hashtag #SHARETHEDREAM. Parents and students can then search Instagram or Facebook, using this hashtag, to see if the athlete has replied with a message of thanks.
