With GPS Rugby and Basketball finished on Sat 7th September and the commencement of GPS Cricket Saturday games not starting until Sat 27th January 2018… TSS Cricketers will have the availability to play much of the club season and have access to more game experience in regular Cricket to progress their talents. GC club cricket is starting early October. The under 10 competition will run Friday evenings…under lights. Club under 11’s-Seniors will be played on Saturdays. TSS Cricket looks to compliment club cricket whereby we encourage TSS boys to participate to experience game play coupled with expert specialist coaching at TSS. If you have a vision to play cricket for Qld & Australia…playing club cricket makes you eligible to trial for Gold Coast Rep. Teams (and higher) who play state titles from u12-u16 each year. If you wish to be involved…clubs sign on in the last week of August/ early September. To join a cricket club (7 years and up) contact your nearest club detailed on the attached link: http://playcricket.com.au/junior-competition/club-cricket/the-game
In the upcoming holidays, The Southport School will be holding our annual Holiday Cricket Camp in the 1st week of the September school holidays for school Yr4 to Yr10 Boys . This Skills and Games Based camp has been quite a success over recent years with boys leaving the camp as better cricketers and had lots of fun in the meanwhile. It will be held at The Southport School on Wed 20th Sept – Fri 22nd of September from 9:30am-2:30pm each day.
During the three days, the boys will have access to level 2 and 3 cricket coaches, specialist skill sessions, video analysis, trial games and fun activities as well as lunch being provided each day. It will also be excellent preparation for those leading into club cricket in the following week. The cost of the camp is $180 and it is open for current TSS Students AND boys not currently enrolled at TSS to attend. We are not in a position where we can accommodate boys overnight so attendees at the camp will need to find their own accommodation if they do not live in the vicinity of the school.
If you would like to be involved in this year’s camp, please register on Parent Lounge.
