As one of the most established and active School Alumni Associations in Australia, we have a long and proud tradition of alumni and community engagement. The OSA is instrumental in providing opportunities for alumni (members) to reconnect with their old School, through many activities and programs that deliver on the Objectives of its Association. In doing so, the OSA supports the School’s own objective in areas such as enrolment and philanthropy and other various ways.
The OSA Branches continue to play a pivotal role in providing opportunities through activities, functions and events both locally and internationally. The OSA alumni membership includes all former students of the Southport School who have attended for the designated period of time to qualify for membership. At the Centenary of the OSA, the OSA Council made all voluntary membership prior to the 1985 retrospective to become fully inclusive for membership as was the case through a fee from 1985 onwards. Membership of the OSA is also inclusive of certain current and former staff that have provided service to the school and/or its Alumni for a minimum of 20 years. The OSA also operates with an OSA Coordinator, employed full-time (term time) to assist in the management and delivery of all requirements of the OSA, Council, and Constitution.
The OSA Strategic Plan is designed to provide further insight into the OSA as an Alumni group, while also providing the School with a reinforcement of the OSA’s commitment to the role of alumni relations within The Southport School.
