Good quality and quantity sleep is integral to just about every aspect of our waking life. Sleep is a core component of the MEN’S (Mindfulness, Exercise, Nutrition and Sleep) Health Club and a topic we frequently promote in the pursuit of positive ‘Wellbeing Health’. Sleep influences such things as our learning capacity, social interactions, problem solving, weight, mood and immune health. It can also be a challenge to achieve when sharing a house with 80 fellow teens!
To assist our understanding of what might help our boarders to get much needed shut eye, TSS has partnered with researchers from Flinders and Griffith Universities. We aim to undertake a unique onsite study trialling three different sleep enhancing techniques across our boarding houses. We hope the results will give us a greater understanding of sleep quality in boarding and provide consistent, evidence-based techniques we can implement within each house.
