Teacher of Mathematics - Senior Campus

Full Time contract - Commencing term 4, 2023

The Southport School is a leading Anglican Day and Boarding School for boys situated on the banks of the beautiful Nerang River in the heart of the Gold Coast. The Southport School (TSS) has been established for 122 years and is committed to providing excellence in leadership, learning and teaching, pastoral care, and extra-curricular endeavours within a balanced, holistic Christian environment. The School has a vibrant Boarding, Education, Cultural and Sporting program that extends across the full year and two campuses.

The Southport School is now seeking a full-time Teacher of Mathematics for a one term contract commencing in term 4, 2023.

This appointment will require an experienced educator with Specialist Mathematics experience and may also be required to teach across years 8-12. Ideally candidates must have recent experience and strong mathematical understanding of the new senior mathematics curriculum including Specialist Mathematics. Candidates are invited to discuss how they develop key foundational skills and build mathematical confidence in students that supports student achievement and academic outcomes. Term 4 represents that start of our academic year and therefore the successful candidate will commence active teaching across the curriculum from the first day of term to the last on 23rd November.

Additionally, we are very interested in hearing from candidates who are keen to be involved in school life outside of the classroom and could contribute or participate in our extensive co-curricular offerings. This is a wonderful opportunity for candidates to experience a very busy academic term but also one filled with ceremony and celebration.

Candidate applications should:

  • Detail recent senior Mathematics teaching experience across all levels and specifically including Specialist Mathematics.
  • Demonstrate their current use and integration of technology across the curriculum,
  • Discuss innovative and interactive teaching practices, and
  • Share areas of potential involvement in the school community through co-curricular or extra-curricular interests.

All staff at The Southport School should be supportive of the Code of Conduct and stated values and Christian Ethos of the School, must be eligible for, or hold current Queensland Teacher Registration, submit to an Anglican Diocese National Register check, and must hold a current first-aid certificate. Candidates must be able to provide a recent Criminal History Check certificate.

Only applications submitted online will be considered and applications close on Monday 07th August at 8.00am.
