Old Boys’ Weekend 2025: A Celebration of Brotherhood and Legacy

09 September 2025

Three remarkable days filled with laughter, memories, and the unmistakable joy of brotherhood. That’s how we experienced Old Boys’ Weekend 2025 at The Southport School, a heartfelt reunion that brought together generations of TSS Old Boys, both near and far.

Under ever-changing skies, blue and bright with a touch of rain, Old Boys aged 18 to 92 and beyond gathered in person and online via livestream, rekindling lifelong friendships and forging new memories. Around 250 members of the 5s cohorts reunited, creating an atmosphere described perfectly by one Old Boy who said, “I had one beer all night, yet I felt drunk on the atmosphere and joy of being back with my classmates.”

Throughout the weekend, we honoured the memory of our friends who have passed, celebrated the rich history of both Boarders and Day Boys, and came together in Chapel to reflect and give thanks. Nostalgia filled the air as tours took us through familiar haunts and showcased the school’s remarkable growth.

The weekend’s sporting events, including basketball and rugby, drew thousands of cheers, highlighted by an electrifying run through the pre-game tunnel by the Reunion First XVs, a perfect spirited finale to a weekend of celebration.

This year, some Old Boys journeyed from across the globe to reconnect with mates, a true testament to the enduring bond forged at TSS. We extend our deepest thanks to all who made the effort to be present, whether in person or in spirit.

Old Boys’ Weekend is a resounding success because of the lifelong connection shared by every Old Boy. Thank you for being part of this extraordinary community, together, we carry forward the spirit and legacy of The Southport School.
