First VIII Achieve Historic Rowing Success

The Southport School proudly congratulates the First VIII on an extraordinary season, securing a third consecutive O’Connor Cup, a fifth straight Old Boys Cup, and a third successive Head of the River title.

This remarkable achievement reflects the crew’s unwavering commitment, discipline, and teamwork, as well as the strength of the School’s rowing program. To dominate across all three major honours in consecutive years is a rare accomplishment and a testament to the dedication of every rower, coach, parent and support staff member involved.

The Head of the River victory caps off a season defined by resilience and excellence, with the crew delivering when it mattered most. Their success continues a proud tradition of rowing at TSS and sets a high standard for future crews to aspire to. Congratulations to the First VIII on an outstanding achievement, your efforts have made the entire TSS community incredibly proud.

Furthermore, today marked a historic milestone for the program, with all Open crews claiming victory in their Head of the River races. From the Fourths through to the Thirds, Seconds and Firsts, each crew raced superbly, an outstanding collective performance. Congratulations to all our Open boys on this exceptional achievement.
